April 18, 2015 was an exciting day to look back at the history of RJ Neutra School. The staff, students, and NAS Lemoore community felt that preserving their time in 1965 was important. In 2015, fifty years later, we celebrated their time and preserved ours with a new time capsule to be opened in 2065.
In April of 1965, RJ Neutra School students, staff, and community buried a time capsule to preserve memories of their time. Mr. Harold Mason was the Principal and Mr. Jesse Clay was the Vice Principal.
In 1965 U.S. Planes started combat missions over South Vietnam. NAS Lemoore, its proud service members and their families would be called upon to defend the interests of the United States in the Vietnam War.
On April 18, 2015, the students, staff, community, and visitors of RJ Neutra School opened the time capsule and placed a new time capsule in the same location that should be opened in April, 2065.
RJ Neutra School invited everyone to visit the Aviator Memorial located on Reeves Blvd. bypass between NAS Lemoore Mainside and Operations side as part of our festivities.
The RJ Neutra Library was also be honored for its 50 Year Anniversary to RJ Neutra students. Mrs. Norris displayed pictures, news clippings, and year books from the past.
Below are pictures and video of the event for everyone to enjoy.
