Ms. Hill Mobley - Third Grade

Welcome to third grade!  My name is Ms. Hill Mobley, and I have been teaching 3rd grade at Akers for the past 15 years. I am having a great time with my students at Neutra this year.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communication at California State University, Stanislaus, and I completed my teaching credentials at Chapman University.

Curriculum for third grade is based on the California Common Core State Standards.  Our language arts program includes the McMillan McGraw-Hill Reading program, and leveled reading groups in our Excel program.  The district-adopted math program is McGraw-Hill.  We study integrated Science and Social Studies units throughout the year.

Homework is assigned daily from Monday through Thursday.  Twenty minutes of reading, and practicing of the skills taught in class is assigned.  Your support in helping your child with reading and homework each day will help him or her build strong work habits.

Third graders at Neutra enjoy several special classes throughout the week.  Mr. Rickard teaches music classes, and Coach Elia teaches P.E., and facilitates track meets and sporting events. Students also enjoy a fitness class with Mrs. Ramirez, and story-time with our librarian, Ms. Norris.

I am looking forward to a great year working with you and your child.  All Common Core State Standards can be viewed at the California Department of Education website:
