Neutra Elementary

Mrs. Rhoads - Transitional Kindergarten

Welcome to Mrs. Rhoads TK Class!

Hello! My name is Molly Rhoads and I am a Transitional Kindergarten teacher here at Neutra. I have been teaching since 2006 and I have been apart of the Neutra team since 2024. I am active in my community. My husband and I have three children that we are very proud of. We enjoy cheering them on from the stands in the many different sports they play. I have always enjoyed teaching younger children and watching them learn through play and learn from one another as well. I look forward to watching your child grow and learn through our TK curriculum!

TK Goals

Cognitive Development

Cognitive development in children is the development of the skills and knowledge that help them understand their environment.

Language development

The development of speech and language refers to the skills children use to understand and communicate with others. Language development helps your child communicate what they want and how they feel. It also is crucial to their thought process; problem-solving, and forming relationships with others.

Social-Emotional Development

Healthy social-emotional skills will help your child form and maintain positive relationships, self-confidence, self-esteem, develop self-awareness and awareness of others and their feelings, and manage stress and anxiety.

Motor Development

Fine motor skill development is a precursor to developing good handwriting skills (and much more!). The more opportunities a child has to pick up small objects (pincer grip), and manipulate and exercise the small muscles in the palm of their hand, the better control and strength they’ll have later on, when coloring, cutting and forming letters.

Gross motor helps strengthen muscles and bones to help children progress into larger movements. Practice not only strengthens muscles but helps build hand-eye coordination.
